Updates / closures

Important Trail Update

Forestry harvesting operations are currently underway in the forest. We’re working closely with the forestry team to manage risks and keep trail disruption to a minimum.

The Skills Area, Pumptrack and Freeride area are currently closed due to harvesting work.

Running Trails – Currently CLOSED due to harvesting operations

Before you ride
Please check the Trail Notice Board at the Visitor Centre for the latest updates.

Thanks for your cooperation and support—riding responsibly helps us keep the trails open for everyone!

——————————–

Please follow the diversion signs to avoid current forest harvesting. Please follow any additional instructions given by machine operators in the area. Do not attempt to ride any of these sections of the trail for your safety and the safety of the operators in the area. Please stick to the way-marked trails and don’t ride on the forest roads unless directed by diversion signs. This is because of the harvesting vehicles.

Please also stay only on the waymarked routes throughout the forest during this period as a lot of heavy timber haulage will be taking place on ALL forest roads. Many thanks for your help and happy riding.

IMPORTANT – Please read…

Betsi Cadwaladr health board, the Health Board that covers our area, has announced a Critical Incident, which has meant extremely long waits for patients to be seen – particularly at A&E departments. This combined with the ambulance service strikes also taking place means it is likely that emergency response times will be even longer than we have been recently experiencing, if available at all.

When out on the trails, ride well within your own abilities, and ensure you have all the necessary kit to be self sufficient should you have an accident, this includes a first aid kit, mobile phone and the correct clothing for the conditions. Any rescue by emergency services will be a long time coming. If you are unsure of the kit you might need or which trail to ride, please speak to a member of staff at the visitor centre before setting off.

If you do have an accident, follow the normal procedure, calling 999 first, and then the visitor centre on 01978 751656 with the number of the nearest waymarker, but be prepared for a long wait for an ambulance should you need it.
