Updates / closures

Important Trail Update

Forestry harvesting operations are currently underway in the forest. We’re working closely with the forestry team to manage risks and keep trail disruption to a minimum.

The Skills Area, Pumptrack and Freeride area are currently closed due to harvesting work.

Running Trails – Currently CLOSED due to harvesting operations

Before you ride
Please check the Trail Notice Board at the Visitor Centre for the latest updates.

Thanks for your cooperation and support—riding responsibly helps us keep the trails open for everyone!

——————————–

Please follow the diversion signs to avoid current forest harvesting. Please follow any additional instructions given by machine operators in the area. Do not attempt to ride any of these sections of the trail for your safety and the safety of the operators in the area. Please stick to the way-marked trails and don’t ride on the forest roads unless directed by diversion signs. This is because of the harvesting vehicles.

Please also stay only on the waymarked routes throughout the forest during this period as a lot of heavy timber haulage will be taking place on ALL forest roads. Many thanks for your help and happy riding.

General FAQ'S
I want to bring my dog, is that ok?

Dogs love running in the forest, this is fine, so long as the dog is under close control at all times! If you are not sure you can control your dog, it should be kept on the lead. It is your responsibility to ensure your dog is under control at all times whilst in the forest.

Do you allow E-bikes?

Oneplanet Adventure welcome responsible e-bike riding on our designated mountain bike trails.

Any e-bike used on the trail network must comply with the governments EAPAC Requirements and be ridden with due consideration to other forest users at all times. E-bikes must comply with the following to be permitted on the trails:

– Be fitted with a motor with a power of no more than 250w
– Provide a maximum assisted speed (i.e. the speed at which motor assistance is automatically cut off) of no more than 25 kmph (roughly 15.5 mph).
– Not be fitted with a full speed throttle that can work ‘independently’ (that is without the pedals ‘moving forward’). Start Up Assist throttles (those that assist up to 6 km/h) are allowed.

E-bikes which don’t comply with the governments EAPAC requirements are not permitted to be used within the forest at any time.

Please note, to ride or rent an E-bike you must be 14 years of age or older by UK law

Are you still open if the weather is bad?

Coed Llandegla Forest is no stranger to severe weather conditions, particularly during winter months. During these times please take these precautions to make your visit safer and more enjoyable:

Contact us ahead of your visit or check our Facebook page for updates.

Consult the local weather forecast and follow any guidance regarding travelling.

Take care in the car park and on the access road – We have limited resources to remove snow and ice and you should expect to be driving on slippery surfaces immediately on leaving the main A525 road.

Follow directions on signs in the forest, or given by Oneplanet Adventure staff.

Wear suitable footwear and clothing.

Expect all trail surfaces to be slippery – we do not treat any of the trails around the centre or in the forest.

Ride mountain biking trails in accordance with your skill level, the conditions and the suitability of your equipment – conditions are likely to be slippery, especially where there is snow and ice.

Please note that in extreme weather, such as high winds or snow and ice, we may have to shut the visitor centre and car park due to the risk of injury to visitors or staff.

Please bear with us if, during periods of extreme weather, we need to take actions which could include closing the Visitor Centre and Car Park without warning. We only do this when visitor and staff safety are an issue, so please understand that although disruptive, we do not undertake such actions lightly.
