Updates / closures

WELSH XC RACE SERIES – Round 2, 28th April 2024. Please note there will be trail closures on this date. The last red descent (The Dark Side) and some sections of the walking trails around the reservoir will closed for this race. Diversions will be in place.

The last section of B-Line (Black, jump line) is currently closed as we are revamping the last straight. Please follow the diversion signs when you arrive at this closure. Please don’t be tempted to go around these closures as heavy machinery and the trail builders will be busy working.

There are no other diversions in place.

Please also stay only on the waymarked routes throughout the forest during this period as a lot of heavy timber haulage will be taking place on ALL forest roads. Many thanks for your help and happy riding.

Hire bike terms & conditions

You are about to take part in a high risk activity. You will minimise this risk by following the safety rules and advice in the Mountain Biker’s Responsibility Code.  If you don’t follow the safety rules and advice you could have a serious accident which could be fatal.

Hire bikes are assessed by a qualified mechanic prior to being hired but please make sure that you follow the Mountain Bikers Checklist for your own safety (please request a copy if you are not familiar with it), and assess your bike before riding and regularly during your ride.

THE HIRER IS RESPONSIBLE for the bike and the equipment and will be liable for any loss or damage to the bike or equipment.

POSITIVE IDENTIFICATION – is required from each hirer, plus a permanent address. You must bring a valid physical driving licence or passport, a current utility bill with matching address to drivers license supplied and your own credit card to leave with us during the duration of hire. No ID, No Card, No Utility Bill, No Hire and No refund!

PAYMENT for hiring is due at the time of booking. Delays in returning rental bikes will be charged at a rate of £5 per bike, per 15 minutes late.

LOSS AND DAMAGE DEPOSIT – A deposit is required for each bike hired. The amount of this deposit will vary depending on the value of bike being hired, this will be detailed in the specific details for each bike. This deposit is refundable on safe return of the bike.  We will take a swipe of your card for this deposit which will need to be pre-authorised by your bank. The hirer will be liable to pay in full the cost of any loss or damage of the bike / equipment which may be over and above that of the security deposit.

Any damage will be charged for at cost price. Rental bikes should only be ridden on the grade of trail that they are designed for. Any bikes found to have been ridden on a trail above the grade they are designed for will have their damage deposit withheld.

E-BIKES – Can only be hired for full days only. As stated in the title of each e-bike we offer two fully charged batteries, meaning if the first battery has run out of power we offer a second battery free of charge.

EBIKE POWER MODES – To maximise your riding experience we strongly recommend keeping the e-bike riding modes in ECO and TRAIL, and only using BOOST occasionally this is to preserve the battery life. Only use BOOST when the trail becomes extremely steep, this reduces the risk of running out of power while out on the trails. We do offer a second battery for free if you do require it. We have found it works best if the rider uses one battery for the morning, and uses one battery for the afternoon.

SECURITY – bikes must not be left unattended at any time unless locked securely. Overnight hire is not permitted, bikes must be returned to Oneplanet Adventure at the end of each day and hire bikes must not leave Coed Llandegla Forest at any time.

CANCELLATION –
