The recent spell of extremely wet weather and snow mean that the reservoir in the forest is extremely full, and the overflow at the visitor centre end is currently in use. Unfortunately this means that the Green cycling trail and some of the walking routes must cross this water course.
Whilst we totally understand that this is a nuisance for visitors wanting to circumnavigate the reservoir, either of foot or on bike, please do not place any objects in this area to try and assist you getting across.
The reservoir overflow is an important safety device and under no circumstances should the overflow be blocked or restricted.
We hope that the overflow will only be in use for a short period of time and will return to a dry state soon. We appreciate your cooperation on this matter.
